After one year in
The Netherlands, the musical ended for my country and the
première for Belgium was announced for September 1st 2011.
Thanks to the Dutch Queen Fan Club we got tickets and really the
best seats in the theatre. Arriving in Antwerp meant meeting the
steady WWRY friends for yet another première and WWRY
experience.
We were told the theatre had received a list of all fanclub
members who would collect their ticket one hour before the show.
Bad news: they did not have a list with names when we arrived in
the ticket-queue. Everybody got nervous, fans and theatre staff,
but at last the list was found and we could enter the theatre.
Outside we spoke with Ben Elton, who happened to be the only one
to attend this première. Brian May was still in Las Vegas, was
told, and Roger... well... no sight of him either.
A few leading roles wre now played by actors from Belgium, but I
think most of the cast were the same as in The Netherlands. It
was a joy again, to see the musical. Being on the second row it
was great fun to watch it all.
